I, too have had a very similar experience to yours. I have no suggestions yet, but will keep researching what to do. I've put myself on the government "do not call" list, but I'm still receiving these calls.
Automated message from someone claiming to be debt collector. Never gives a company name - just said "you owe "o.oo dollars" and when would you like to pay it. Really bizarre - maybe a scam so don't give them any info!!!!

They called me twice about expired warranty on my car. I picked up the phone first time & listened to the recorded message. Since they said "This is the LAST warning", I thought I would be better off ignoring that. They called again today. This time I called them back & asked the agent what car were they talking about. She flatly said sorry & then hung up. This is a BIG scam, please do not pick up any call from this number & waste your time/money.

I get contacted by this company all hours of the day or night. If I don't answer they leave a message. But when you call the number you get nothing just blank sound. I am so tired of them calling. I have never done business with them in any way. They claim I have orderd medications from them. You also have a hard time understanding them since they are not American......
This person keeps calling my cell phone and hanging up when I answer, and when I don't, they do not even leave a message. I googled the number and got some chick in missouri, who must be a telemarketer or something. I do not know anybody in Missouri.
This number appears when I receive a call Automated machine telling me my car warranty expired. I never had an extended warranty. They call few times while at work so I don't pick it up. Same machine also has call the office number and now calls more often my cell and my office number.

Pre-recorded female voice saying confirming my installation of Dish network on the next day and confirming I paid for the service. Voice stated I was pre-approved for a Disney vacation and instructed me to press 1. After pressing one and a long hold I got a male who did not identify himself asking me who my provider was and I kept asking him his name and who he was with, he transferred me to another male who answered the phone with Direct TV, I said I was just told this was Dish Network who are you and what's going on, he apologized and hung up
Keep getting called by this number 3-4 times a day, along with 905-513-0767. When I pick up, there is no answer on the other end, but the line is open and you can hear air. After about 10 seconds, the line hangs up. 2-3 hours later, however, they call back. Only during work hours so far...
I received a check for $4998.00 on February 23, 2009. The enclosed letter stated that I was a winner of the Shoppers Sweepstakes held on January 5, 2009. My total winnings would be $250,000.00. But, I would have to deposit the $4998.00, then send the company $2995.00 of this to cover the 'taxes' that were due. I just didn't feel comfortable about this whole deal, so I went on-line to investigate the matter. I have found that others received the same letter and check for the same amounts. What a coincidence! Beware of this company.
Calls late 9:55pm on Sunday night and doesn't leave a message, but you can hear a person hanging up. So who is it that calls? Called back 2 more times within 10 minutes. I of course do not answer calls that I don't recognize at that late hour. If they are important they'd leave a message, one would think.
Some latin person who I could hardly stand. All i know if they call 4-5 times a day asking if I want a car loan. They obviously purchased my information from some other company. I keep advising them to stop calling but they do not,.
Several calls a week, what I would consider to be a crank call. There's never a person or machine on the line, just silence. After three greetings, we always hang up.
